We have three pieces of fantastic news for you.


1. Tuesday, March 12, you can help kids at Children's Miracle Network Hospital's including Columbia's own Prisma Health Children's Hospital — Midlands.


2. All you have to do to help them is eat pancakes at IHOP.


3. The pancakes are free.


IHOP's 14th annual Free Pancake Day – Flip It Forward For Kids® event begins Tuesday at 7 a.m. and continues through 7 p.m. at IHOP restaurants nationwide, including six in the Midlands.


The restaurants will offer all guests one free short stack of pancakes. Donations will be accepted and will go to CMN Hospitals.


IHOP and its franchisees have a goal of raising $4 million during the campaign to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and other children’s health and wellness organizations. This year, IHOP expects to serve a record-breaking 5 million pancakes in a single day to support its charity partners.


This year, IHOP also invited invited kids treated at any Children’s Miracle Network Hospital to dream up their best pancake recipe. You can watch the creations of the three finalists online.


The six local participating IHOP restaurants are at 7719 Two Notch Rd., Columbia; 1031 Assembly St., Columbia; 813 St. Andrews Rd, Columbia; 2485 Broad Street, Sumter; 2567 North Road, Orangeburg and 5571 Sunset Blvd., Lexington.


Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is a network of 170 healthcare providers dedicated to treating children facing life-threatening illnesses. Prisma Health Children’s Hospital—Midlands is the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in Columbia, S.C.
